Harrow Museum & Heritage Centre Medieval May Day 2010
Bank Holiday Monday 3rd May 2010, 12noon - 5pm
Pinner View, Harrow (streetmap)
This year's May Day will be celebrating 700 years of the Manor House, the oldest
residence in Middlesex. Events will be taking place throughout the day on a medieval theme, including archery, falconry displays, Morris dancing and maypole dancing.
In addition there will be live music and a range of activities, including bouncy castles, kids' rides, children’s craft activities, balloon modelling and face
painting (please note that some activities charge an additional fee).
There will also be approximately 50 market stalls selling items such as
ceramics, wooden toys, jewellery, and plants – all created by stall holders in
the West London area. Food, drink and ice cream stalls will also be present at
the event.
This year is the second time that Headstone Manor island will be fully open to
the public. Following extensive repairs to the 18th century bridge over the
moat, guided tours of Headstone Manor will be taking place throughout the day.
All of Harrow Museum’s historic listed buildings, apart
from the Granary, will be open to the public during May Day. The Tithe Barn is
where you can find our current temporary exhibitions, as well as the museum
shop, cafe, and toilets - including an accessible WC with baby changing
facilities. For more information on disabled access please see the ‘access
arrangements’ page on our website
www.harrow.gov.uk/museum.
Free parking is available, in the car park next to the museum as well the field
behind the museum – stewards will guide you when you approach the museum from
Pinner View. Please inform the stewards if you are a blue badge holder and
require a disabled parking space.

small fee is payable during May Day. Entry to the site is as follows:
